Why PADI Open Water Referral Course?
The PADI Open Water Referral program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for holiday makers who don't want to spend half their holiday in a classroom or sitting on the bottom of a pool.
As a subprogram of the PADI Open Water Diver program, the PADI Referral Course allows you to get certified quickly and easily by minimising time constraints whilst on holiday.
Options for Open Water Course
For students who are unable to complete a full PADI Open Course, provided you have completed the full requirements for PADI Open Water Referral, we can award the PADI Open Water Referral certification.
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a Scuba Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Referral Course program available.
What will I do?
Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this referral rating by completing pool dives, knowledge development sessions.
What do I need for full Open Water Certification?
You will need to complete 4 open water dives over a minimum of 2 days at a resort of your choice. We can help organise the diving or you can contact a centre of your choice from the PADI www site. You will need to negotiate the cost locally. Most dive centres will also want to do a check out dive with you in the pool or shallow sea before starting a course.
How long will it take?
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. We usually complete the course over 5 - 6 weeks, but alternatives are available by special arrangement.
Is there a time limit?
Yes. You will need to complete the 4 open water dives within 12 months of finishing the referral course.
Can I complete the PADI Open Water course with Divenut?
Yes. If taken within 6 months of your referral course with us, you simply pay the difference and we can arrange the 4 open water dives. After 6 months and before the 12 months are up, we will need to review part of the study material and organise a skills review session. There will be an extra charge for this.
Where can I go from here?
After completing the referral and 4 open water, you'll want to continue your dive education and the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification to explore more dive opportunities.
